Mary Galindo

Mary Ellen Galindo, 68, of Balmorhea, passed away on Friday January 06, 2023 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX.

Mary Ellen was born in Pecos to Vivian and Nicolasa Ortega on November 8, 1954. She attended school in Balmorhea. She married Rosendo Galindo on August 23, 1974 in Balmorhea and they had five children. She worked at the Eleven Inn Motel for 3 years and was a lifelong mother and housewife. She was a lifetime Balmorhea resident and a devoted catholic. Mary Ellen enjoyed sewing, crafts, cooking for her family, gardening, taking care of her houseplants, working on jigsaw puzzles and Word-Fill In puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was the kindest, sweetest most caring person you could ever meet with a heart of gold always putting the needs of others before her own. She was a very forgiving person, and never held grudges.

Mary Ellen is preceded in death by her parents Vivian and Nicolasa Ortega, Brother Vivian Ortega Jr, Brother Gilbert Ortega, and husband Rosendo Galindo.

Mary Ellen is survived by daughter Joann Galindo of Odessa, sons Rosendo Galindo Jr (Valarie) of Odessa, Ruben Galindo of Balmorhea, Richard Galindo (Erica) of Balmorhea, Randy Galindo of Odessa, sister Anita Flores (Elizer) of Odessa, brothers Santiago Ortega of Odessa, and Joe Ortega (Lori) of Odessa, she has 9 Grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Joann Galindo, Rosendo Galindo Jr, Ruben Galindo, Richard Galindo, Randy Galindo, and Joshua Galindo

Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Mata, Monica Mata, Andrew R. Galindo, Luis R. Galindo, Zaylein Galindo, Hailey Galindo, Richard Galindo Jr., and Stellamaris Galindo

First visitation will be from 10:30am to 5:30pm on Wednesday January 11, 2023 at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home in Pecos, Texas. Rosary at 7:00 pm at Christ the King Catholic Church in Balmorhea, Texas.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am on Thursday January 12, 2023 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Balmorhea, Texas. Burial will follow at Balmorhea Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Pecos Funeral Home.
