Maria Gallegos

Maria "Mary" Gallegos, 76, of Pecos, Texas, passed away on December 30, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. Mary was born in Pecos, Tx. to Magdalena M. Abila on January 22, 1945. She attended and graduated from Pecos High School. Mary attended Nursing School and worked for the Reeved County Hospital as a Nurse for 45 years, she was a life time Pecos resident and a Catholic.

Mary is preceded in death by her mother, Magdalena M. Abila, brothers Alvaro Abila and Ramon Mata Jr.

Mary is survived by her daughters; Isela Hernandez and Kayla Gallegos both of Pecos, Tx., sons; Jaime Gomez, Arturo Gallegos and Arturo Gallegos Jr. all of Pecos, Tx., sisters; Lucy Ortiz, Lupe Abila and Maryjane Lyles all from Pecos, Tx., Terri Sandoval and Gina Vargas from Odessa, Tx., and Anna Moody from Alpine, Tx., brothers Robert Abila and Jackie Hernandez from Pecos, Tx., and Ruben Hernandez from Austin, Tx., 16 Grandchildren and 20 Great- Grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Arturo Gallegos Jr., James Hernandez, Jaime Gomez, Joe Edward Gomez, Michael Ortiz, Alonzo Hernandez and Jonathan Juarez.

Visitation will be from 9 am to 9 pm on Wednesday January 5, 2022, at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home with Rosary at 7 pm. Mask are required at the funeral home.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church, on 620 E. 4th. St. Interment will follow at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.
