Manuela Contreras

Manuela Carrasco /Contreras, 90, of Pecos, Tx passed away on June 27, 2020. She was born on January 2, 1930 in Brogado, Tx to Angelita and Canuto Carrasco.

She was a homemaker and seamstress who lived for her children and grandchildren. She was an amazing cook and there was always some great aroma wafting out of her tiny kitchen.

She was a devoted member of Santa Rosa Catholic Church.

She is survived by sons Jesse (Prissy) Contreras and Gilbert (Ruby) Contreras of Pecos, Tx and Robert (Barry Wakeling) Contreras of Forest Hills, NY; Stepsons Chito (Linda) of Midland, Tx., Pete (Carmen) of Lubbock, Tx., and was preceded in death by stepson Manuel Contreras (Mary) of Indianapolis, IN.  She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 11 Step-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Focused Care at Pecos for our mother’s care during her period of residence.

Viewing will be at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home chapel from 9:00 a.m.to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday June30, 2020; rosary will be recited at 2:00 p.m., Funeral mass will be at Santa Rosa Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, officiated by Father Del La Cruz.

Due to the COVID19 virus, and the fact that this is a high risk environment, we are following the CDC Guidelines for Social Distancing, as well as asking that for the visitation and service only be attended by immediate family only, and the number of guests cannot exceed 75, period. Also, everyone should wear a mask to help protect everyone. We are strongly discouraging the elderly, or very young children from attending any visitation, or funeral services.
