Louis "Lichi" Ortiz

Louis G. Ortiz “Lichi”, 92, beloved husband, father and grandfather, peacefully passed away on April 17, 2021

Lichi was born on June 21, 1928 in Pecos to Pedro and Maria Ortiz.

He worked as a delivery man for Bozeman Drug Store for several years.  He then worked as a carpet layer for Pecos Furniture until his retirement.
He married the love of his life, Bennie Guevara on June 28, 1953.  Together they had five children.

Lichi loved spending time with family and friends and was always the life of the party.  He loved to travel and sight-see.  He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by numerous friends and family.

Lichi is preceded in death by his children Michael Louis Ortiz and Nora O. Jasso; his parents and his siblings Manuel Ortiz, Tomas Ortiz, Cruz Bitolas, and Socorro “Chata” Rodriguez.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Bennie and daughters Rowena (Lyle) Lyles, Linda Carrasco and Maria (Greg) Garcia; son-in-law Joel Jasso; Grandchildren Melissa (Edward) Pippen, Lee (Becca) Lyles, Dina Ortiz, Nicko (Kassy) Jasso and Mark Garcia; Great Grandchildren Amarissa, Ashlyn and Aaric Jeremiah Pippen, Camila and Dylan Lyles and Ace Joel Jasso.

Visitation will be held April 18th from 1:00 - 5:00 pm, and on Monday April 19th from 9:00 am - 8:00 pm with a rosary at 6:30 pm.  All held at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be on Tuesday April 20th at 10:00 am at Santa Rosa Catholic Church* and burial immediately following at Mount Evergreen.

*Due to the COVID19 Pandemic, Santa Rosa requires that friends and family gather at the church at 9:00 A.M. for seating, and only the immediate family and the casket bearers gather at the funeral home for the procession to the church. For visitation there are no limits on the number of people who can visit, however masks are required for all.
