Inez Florez Hignojos

In loving memory of Inez Hignojos, who graced the world with her presence for 83 remarkable years, we gather to honor her life. Inez peacefully departed from this earth on December 5, 2024, in the cherished town of Pecos, Texas—the very place where her journey began on January 21, 1941. She was the beloved daughter of Sipriano and Theresa Florez and a proud member of the Pecos community throughout her life.

Inez married the love of her life, David Hignojos, in January 1962, and together they built a family that was the heartbeat of their lives. As a devoted homemaker, Inez found joy in nurturing her loved ones and engaging deeply in her faith, being an active member of the Guadalupanas and Crustistas.

Although Inez has been preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings, her spirit lives on through her loving family. She is survived by her son, Salvador Hignojos; her daughter-in-law, April Hignojos; and her cherished grandchildren, Magdalena and Ayrton Hignojos. Inez's legacy of love and strength is further carried on by her sisters: Sylvia Millan from El Paso, Elsie Brown from Cleburne, Elodia Ybarra from Odessa, and Diane Payami from San Antonio.

A heartfelt Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM on December 12, followed by visitation from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. The funeral service will take place on Friday, December 13, at 10:00 AM, presided over by Deacon Rudy Villegas at Saint Catherine Catholic Church. Inez will find her final resting place at Greenwood Cemetery, embraced by the love and memories of all who knew her.
