Gloria Tarango

Gloria F. Tarango 88, of Pecos passed away Thursday July 18, 2019 at Odessa Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas. She was born January 5, 1931 in Pecos, Texas to Octaviano Flores and Fermina Mendoza Flores. She was housewife and a Christian believer. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Sandra Avila, sons Fredrick Avila and Daniel Tarango, grandson Eric Armendariz,sisters; Mary Heredia, Lucy Ojinaga, brothers; Jesu Flores, and Amado Flores.

Gloria had a love for dancing, traveling, and camping. She claimed that dancing was her secret for staying young. She was known for great tasting tortillas and her Chile Verde. She was a very social person and had a great sense of humor. She was a very generous and giving person, always helping people in need. Gloria will be truly missed by everyone that was acquainted with her.

Gloria is survived by the love of her life Alejandro “Alex” Tarango, which they were married for 55 years, daughter Katherine Carrasco of Balmorhea, Tx., sister Geralda Enriquez of Hanford, CA., brothers Jose Flores of San Francisco, CA., and Tony Ojinaga of Hanford, CA., Gloria also leaves to cherish her memories of her 10 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren which she loved very much.

The Tarango family wishes to express a most sincere thank you to the Odessa Medical Center Hospital Staff for the special care that was provided to Gloria during her stay.
Visitation is set for Monday July 22, 2019 from 1pm-9pm and Tuesday July 23, 2019 from 9am-9pm and a prayer service will be held also on Tuesday July 23, 2019 at 7:30pm at the Peaceful Garden Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral Services are set for 10am, Wednesday July 24, 2019 at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Florencio Ortiz officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
