Gilberto Barrera 71, of Pecos passed away Sunday September 1, 2019 at the Focus Care Nursing Home. He was born April 6, 1948 in Coyame Chihuahua, Mexico, Ramona Barrera Sauceda. He was disabled and a Christian. He is preceded in death by his mother Ramona Barrera Sauceda, sister Sylvia Muniz and brother Pablo Barrera.
Gilberto worked as a labor hand at the Evergreen Ranch, and was a regular attendee at Emmanuel Assembly of God Church up until his health caused him to stop attending on a regular basis.
Gilberto is survived by his sister Sulema Muniz and husband Samuel of Pecos, Tx.
Gilberto also leaves to cherish his memories 5 nephews Macario Muniz and wife Janeri of Odessa, Pablo Muniz and wife Corina of Midland, Marcos Muniz and wife Jessica of Midland, Daniel Muniz of Pecos, and David Muniz and wife Liz of Monahans
The Muniz family wishes to express a most sincere thank you to the Focus Care Nursing staff for the special care that was provided to Gilberto during his stay.
Visitation is set for Thursday September 5, 2019 from 9am-9pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services are set for 10am, Friday September 6, 2019 at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home Chapel. with Brother Will Norris officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenwood cemetery.
