Edmundo De La Rosa 81, of Pecos passed away on December 14, 2020 in Pecos, Texas.
Edmundo was born in Sierra Blanca, Texas to Esteban De La Rosa and Dolores Carrillo on October 16, 1939. He attended Pecos High School and El Paso High School. As soon as he graduated high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, in which he served 3 tours in Vietnam. He was Company Gunnery Sergeant, Barracks and Grounds NCD, and Company Training NCO. He honorably and proudly served his country for 24 years as a US Marine.
He married Rosa Rayos on April 5, 2008. Ed was a kind man that loved spending time with his wife, his children and grandchildren and rooting for his favorite football team the Dallas Cowboys. Ed also loved serving his parish Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Edmundo De La Rosa Sr. and Dolores, and previous wife Sara Rose De La Rosa.
Ed is survived by his wife of 12 years, Rosa De La Rosa, his children; son Edmundo De La Rosa Jr and wife Qenberly of San Diego, Ca., daughter Ana De La Rosa and husband David Maldonado of Sacramento, Ca., six step children; Silvestre Ramirez and wife Sylvia of Pecos, Johnny Ramirez and spouse Juan Garcia of Odessa,Tx., Steve Ramirez and spouse Jim Smith of Arlington, Tx., Emelda Ramirez, David Ramirez and wife Gina, and Latacha Lee Luster all of Pecos. He is also survived by one brother Steve De La Rosa of San Antonio, Tx., three sisters Sylvia Allen and husband Eddy of Houston, Tx., and Lisa Leos and Estella Ornelas of Pecos. He also leaves 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren to cherish his memory.
Visitation will be held at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home on Monday December 21, 2020 from 9am-4pm with a Rosary at 2pm, and Tuesday December 22, 2020 from 8am-10am followed by a graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery.
The family of Mr. Edmundo De La Rosa would like to thank all the nurses and staff at the VA and Reeves County Hospital and Dr. Gorman for all of their help and great care during his illness.
