Dora Zaragoza

Dora Muniz Zaragoza, 72, of Pecos was called home to heaven on September 15, 2022, in Odessa, Texas.  Viewing will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022, from 9am to 9pm at Peaceful Gardens Funeral Home.  A service will be conducted while viewing from 7pm to 8pm.  Private burial to be officiated on a later date.

Dora was born in Pecos, Texas to Dolores and Rosa Muniz on June 18, 1950.  A lifelong resident of Pecos, she attended Pecos High School.  Dora had many trades but mostly known for housekeeping and cooking skills for the beloved and late Dr. Bruce Hay.  Dora was devout member of the Church of Christ.

Dora is preceded in death by her parents and several siblings, including Candelaria Dominguez, Dolores “Lolo” Muniz, Manuel Fierro Muniz, Manuel “Melio” Muniz, Adan “Nanes” Muniz and Rey Muniz.

Dora is survived by her daughter Irene Zaragoza of Odessa, Texas, her son Ruben Mark Zaragoza of Pecos, Texas.  Sisters Monce Acosta, Jimmie Contreras of Pecos, brothers Jesus “Chuy” Muniz of McAllen, Texas, Israel “Chuco” Muniz of Big Spring, Texas and Salvador “Chillin” Muniz of Pecos.  Six Grandchildren Julie and husband Shane Robertson, Dario Morales, Ailina Pena, Lianna Campos, Jadon Zaragoza and Zoe Zaragoza.  Six great grandchildren that were her pride and joy also survive.

The Zaragoza Family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff of Reeves County Hospital, Medical Center Hospital, and Hospice of Midland for all the special Care they poured into our beloved “Ms. Dora”.
