Billy Edwards

1952 — 2022

Pecos, Texas

Billy Edwards, 69, of Pecos, Texas, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022, surrounded by close friends and family. Born July 23, 1952, in Nolan, Texas, he was the son of the late Glenn Curtis Edwards and Bertha Lucille Rushing. His siblings are Bobby Edwards married to Myong Edwards; his brother-in-law, Danny Hewitt, who was married to the late Cindy Hewitt; and the late Barbara Lynn Sheridan.

Billy is survived by his wife, Virginia Edwards, of 36 years; his daughter, Kimberly Rodriguez and her husband, Joseluis (Jojo) Rodriguez Jr.; his son, Jeremy Edwards and his wife Heather Edwards; his son Rudy Ornelas and his wife Rose Ornelas. Billy is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Pennylane Rodriguez, JudeApple Rodriguez, Marley Edwards, Kingston Edwards, and Daniell Lara; along with his great-grandchildren, Sofia Mendoza, Khloe Mendoza, and Salma Mendoza.

Throughout his years living in Pecos, Billy was an employee of Freeport Sulfur, the Reeves County Sheriff’s Office, and eventually retired from the Pecos Valley Southern Railway Company. During his free time, Billy thoroughly enjoyed being a dedicated and devoted member of the Pecos Valley Masonic Lodge 736, along with the Kermit Lodge 1258.

Even though Billy went to be with the Lord, he will truly be missed. He was a person who never failed to lend a helping hand, give helpful advice, share many jokes, or give a caring smile when needed. His friends and family enjoyed his delectable barbecue and respected his love for country music, especially his favorite musician, George Jones. He was a Dominologist, a true Domino player, who was always ready for a challenge.

A Memorial Service honoring Billy will be held at the Masonic Lodge (7th and Oak St.) on July 30, 2022, from 3 to 7 P.M.
