PECOS, TEXAS

Amelia R Guzman 93 of Pecos passed away Tuesday September 8, 2020 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. She was born August 23, 1927 in Colorado City, Tx to Nicolas and Jesusita Valenzuela Ramirez. She was a homemaker and a devout Christian Catholic.  She married Julian Guzman in in 1941 in Suacillo, Chihuahua Mexico and they were married for 45 years. Mom was a very loving woman to anyone that would meet her. One of her passions was sewing, cooking, and she loved to watch her Spanish telenovelas, she specifically mentioned to Armando that she would always look out for him when she was gone, she was very caring and humble. Even with the debilitating disease that plagued the Guzman family she was the rock of the family and remained it till the last breath she took never regretting it. Mom you will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Julian Guzman Sr, daughters Adelaida Guzman, Dolores Guzman, Marina Venegas, and Socorro Lopez, sons Cruz, Ruben and Juan De Dios Guzman.

She is survived by her sons Lorenzo Guzman and wife Dolores of San Antonio, and Jesus, Armando and Julian Guzman Jr and wife Dolores all of Pecos, sister Maria Ramirez of Hobbs, New Mexico

Grandma leaves to cherish her memory 33 grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren.

DUE to COVID-19 Visitation is set for only 40 persons with social distancing guidelines Monday September 14, 2020 from 9am-4pm and Tuesday September 15, 2020 from 9am-4pm with a rosary at 2pm at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home Chapel. Masks are required.

Graveside service is set for 10am Wednesday September 16, 2020 with Father Jose De La Cruz officiating.  Same COVID-19 guidelines apply at the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joel Calderon Jr, Devin Sosa, Fabian Venegas, Lorenzo A Guzman, Noe Guzman, Mario Lopez, Olivia Guzman and Cindy Flores  Honorary Pallbearer Lisa Sandoval
