Alfonso "Fonzie" Garcia

Alfonso "Fonzie" Garcia, a beloved resident of Pecos, Tx., passed away peacefully on Friday, December 29, 2023, in his hometown. He was 48 years old.

Alfonso was born on December 3, 1975, in Casa Grande, Arizona to Santo Garcia and Hermila V. Garcia. On August 25, 2006, he married the love of his life, Simon Jaquez. Alfonso was a devout Catholic and took great solace in his faith.

Alfonso had a zest for life that was apparent to all who knew him. He had a passion for cooking and spent many hours in the kitchen creating delicious meals for his family and friends. His warm and welcoming personality made him the heart of any gathering.

Alfonso "Fonzie" Garcia is preceded in death by his mother Hermila V. Garcia and brothers Gabriel Garcia and Cesar Garcia. His absence leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Alfonso "Fonzie" Garcia is survived by his loving spouse Simon Jaquez; his brothers Santos Garcia III, Luis Garcia, Jesus Garcia (from Arizona), Juan Garcia (from Kansas), Juan Pablo Trejo (from Oklahoma); his sisters Blanca Garcia (of Tornillo, Tx.), Claudia Lujan (of Fabians, Tx.), and Alicia Trejo (of Oklahoma); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He treasured the time he spent with each one of them and leaves behind cherished memories.

The funeral service will be held at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 2 pm. Pallbearers will be Santos Garcia III, Jesus Garcia, Luis Garcia, Ricky Dominguez, Byron Dominguez, and Randy Muniz.

Before the funeral, visitation will be held at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 10 am to 9 pm. A Rosary will be recited at 7 pm to honor Alfonso's memory.
